Training objectives

The DVS leads to the profession of ironworker in the construction industry.

This study program allows the development of skills necessary for the assembly of structural and architectural elements of a construction using various lifting devices, as well as their installation using bolting and welding processes.

Prerequisites

• High school diploma (HSD) or Attestation of Equivalence of Schooling (AENS); or
• 16 years of age and have the Secondary 3 units in French, mathematics, and English; or
• Be at least 18 years old and have passed the General Development Test (GDT) and have the specific prerequisites.

Admission

Due to a province-wide recruitment process, applications are evaluated based on the results of a battery of psychometric tests, the academic record, the labour needs of the applicant's region of origin and the number of available places. Therefore, please send us your application at least 2 months before the beginning of the training.
