Vocational training (DVS 5356)

Training objectives

This program allows the student to develop the skills necessary for the assembly, disassembly and installation of steam generators, boilers, spherical pressure vessels and towers.

The boilermaker career is practiced mainly on construction sites in the following sectors: aluminium smelters, mines, nuclear power plants, steel mills, thermal power stations (such as Hydro-Québec in Tracy), and especially cogeneration plans. These are more popular nowadays; petrochemical, refinery, pulp and paper and cement companies.

The graduate of this program is also qualified to apply processes of rigging, bolting and assembly of composite materials and steel.
